Finally, Huntington Beach’s downtown district along Main Street has an authentic barbecue spot. Smokin’ Mo’s Bar-B-Que takes its cues from Southern regional cuisine to bring four choices of barbecue sauces to its hickory-smoked meats: hot, mild, sweet and vinegar. Some come here for the well-crafted North Carolina-style pulled pork sandwich, which shares space on its plate with a tall pile of crispy coleslaw. There’s also a Memphis-style tri tip sandwich, along with the more traditional spicy pork and beef ribs. Everything comes with either “Grandpa Tom’s” baked beans, coleslaw or potato salad. Regulars know not to miss out on the Central Coast-inspired fresh garlic french fries.
