Snow City Cafe Restaurant Review:

Only the picture windows of the Snow City Café are reminiscent of a 40s era diner. Inside, it's all about “funky coffee bar meets restaurant” in a caffeine-charged atmosphere, designed to perk you up with décor in vibrant colors of spring green, sweet orange and tart yellow. For Anchorage residents in the know, this is the “go-to” place for breakfast. Drop in for a quick bite, plant yourself and lounge for a bit to enjoy the smells and sounds of the crowd-pleasing eatery, or grab a quick take-out treat at the espresso bar. Eggs are a highlight and they do them up right with a bevy of Benedict options: think spinach, salmon or king crab. There's also a selection of vegan and gluten-free dishes. Hot oatmeal is served with house-made granola and a side of fruit, while a hearty Tundra Scramble mixes scrambled eggs with ground reindeer sausage, chopped green peppers, mushrooms, red onion and cheddar, paired with crisped hash browns and buttered toast. Although typically closed by late afternoon, watch for evening openings for events such as the First Friday Gallery Walk. Bar selections are limited to wine, beer and Champagne for special occasions.
