Sol Food Restaurant Review:
This tiny outpost is a sibling to Sol Food's bigger restaurant and take out locations in San Rafael. Lines form during opening hours but move quickly, however seating is limited. Start with one of the daily soups such as the lentil with chunks of pumpkin and a sprinkling of cilantro, then move on to the Cubano, a grilled sandwich for carnivores. You must try one of the versions of plantains, such as the garlicky maduros, crisp tostones or Puerto Rican classic mofongo. Drinks are a specialty so go for the limeade or fruity orange mango iced tea to wet your whistle. Vegetarians, vegans and those on a gluten-free diet will have plenty to choose from here. Save room for dessert --- classic flan and coconut pudding are worth the calories.
