Now that startups and Sand Hill venture firms alike have turned South Park into a high priced and high energy enclave in SF, this place can get busy at lunchtime, but is entirely accessible for dinner. The food has had its ups and downs, but it is solidly Left Bank bistro. Ahi tartare is tiny, on a potato chip, but light and ceviche-like. Black lentil stew noses rich with turmeric but tastes mild. Tai snapper with chanterelles was a highlight. Dishes are pricey: a three-course, prix-fixe dinner is available for $44, and likely your best economic bet. Wines, not surprisingly, are French and Californian and available by the bottle and glass with a reasonable selection.
