Spindini Restaurant Review:
Spindini’s authentic Italian cuisine includes not only traditional pasta dishes but also wood-fired pizzas cooked to order in a flaming-hot oven at the end of the bar. Food is prepared using only the freshest ingredients from the restaurant’s garden in nearby Holly Springs, Mississippi. A see-and-be-seen ambience prevails as the place tends to attract a hip, artsy patronage, especially on monthly South Main Trolley Tour art walk nights. Spindini packs a crowd on Monday evenings as well, when it offers half-price pizza and wine. Seasonal gelati and sorbetti, tiramisu, and chocolate soufflé cake are among desserts. Twenty-plus wines are offered by the glass, and many fine wines are available by the bottle. The list is divided by the Old vs. New World dichotomy, and a Reserve list features name selections, such as Silver Oak and Ornellaia. Spindini boasts an impressive whiskey list.
