THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Star Steaks & BBQ Restaurant Review:

Transforming a popular neighborhood spot known for its fish and seafood into a popular neighborhood spot known for its barbecue and steaks is no mean feat, but Atlanta restaurateur Tom Catherall has pulled if off. The Southwestern flair of this new enterprise is firmly in the hands of a well-seasoned Southwestern-school chef, Dakota Munds, a young woman who has cooked with the best (Mark Miller and Dean Fearing) to learn the ways of cowboy fare. In addition, she’s a graduate of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute in Arizona, where she also learned French methods. What does all that lead to? Superior smoked beef tenderloin and delicious St. Louis-style pork ribs, baby-back ribs (so tender your breath practically cuts them) and barbecued beef brisket. The catfish, done in cornmeal crust, is major yummy. When it comes to dessert, the new crew added its version of the Red Velvet cake, a country standard gone white tablecloth. Not all the dishes from the previous Indigo restaurant have vanished: the Key Lime pie and the jalapeño cheese grits remain.
