STIR Martini + Raw Bar is a classy, contemporary martini bar so cool you won’t believe you’re in Seattle, let alone on the Eastside---or in a hotel. The central bar boasts an ice-encrusted vodka tap dispensing spirits at the ideal temperature. Unfortunately, unless you’re sitting at the bar and can tuck your glass into a trough of shaved ice, drinks cool off quickly. Avoid the clever though beautifully presented “deconstructed” martinis; why try to put one together when a first-rate bartender is available? While the classic cocktails are spot-on, signature libations lean toward the sweet side. To accompany your beverages, check out the Northwest and Asian-inspired menu, which includes oysters, poke, sushi and ceviche, with a hefty king crab roll or halibut ceviche as standouts. Or order from the all-day dining room menu offering lobster bisque with tarragon crème fraîche and a flavorful rock shrimp miso soup. Noteworthy larger plates are the pulled pork sandwich and the tuna sliders. For dessert, the sweet gyoza with caramelized pears and figs and a chocolate and Kahlúa dipping sauce is delightfully decadent. A topnotch happy hour happens daily from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. and again from 10 p.m. till closing.
