STK Midtown Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant: STK is a small chain of steakhouses with outlets around the globe. The design at the midtown location is sleek and chic, the room highlighted with an arched rib-like canopy that looks like it could have been designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.

Food & Drinks: The steak is good --- though nothing better than your average steakhouse quality. But what makes STK stand apart is its large menu of non-red meat items, some of which are quite inventive: foie gras french toast, for example, or tuna tartare spiked with a honey-soy emulsion and seared scallops in coconut-lime broth. Seared big-eye tuna might take you back to the ’90s dining landscape when the dish was all the rage, but it’s worthy of any time traveler, as is the duck breast served in a cherry mustard jus. Finish with the coconut semifreddo and you’ll certainly end your night on a sweet note. The wine list is predictably expensive with about a dozen selections offered by the glass.
