We're proud to say that we've tried every one of Street's 17 specialty sandwiches, as well as a good chunk of the rest of the menu, and this modest little sandwich shop gives us great pleasure. Unheard of in most sandwich emporiums, Street's roasts its own beef and turkey, and it's a night-and-day difference between this juicy, meaty stuff and the usual processed nonsense. Our favorite sandwich here, the V.I.P., piles that great turkey high with stuffing and cranberry sauce: Thanksgiving on a baguette. The Commerce Street---roast beef teamed with cream cheese, horseradish mayo, and fixin's---is also a winner. The menu is rounded out with plenty of salads and sides; no matter what we order, we can never resist the moist carrot cake.
