Sultan's Kitchen Restaurant Review:

Ask the blue suit VIPs from the Financial District, who begin lining up at 11:30 a.m. each weekday: this tiny Turkish gem serves up bag-loads of tasty, healthy food. Everything comes in Styrofoam boxes to take with you, so forget fancy. There are a few tables, so you can eat in if you don't mind paper and plastic ware, but most order lunches to go. The kitchen turns out salads redolent with garlic, parsley and lemon served with a slice of pita bread; hummus sandwiches; hot soups like curried lentil; kebabs of all sorts made with lamb, beef and chicken drizzled with thick yogurt; and surprisingly sumptuous specials. In another setting, this place would be a major dining destination --- but then it wouldn't be a treasure. As it is, Sultan's Kitchen keeps the movers and shakers, and anyone else who happens by, very happy. We like finishing off a visit with the sweet, flaky baklava.
