THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Sun & Moon Cafe Restaurant Review:

If it wasn't for the neon sign that reads “Sushi Rolls,” Sun & Moon Café could easily be mistaken for a neighborhood bakery. In fact, that's what it used to be, until chef-owner Hiro Dang took charge and swapped the pastry case for a sushi bar. Chef Dang appeared on the Japanese version of “Iron Chef,” and based on Sun & Moon’s crowds, he clearly didn’t leave behind his fusion tricks in a Tokyo television studio. Soft-shell crabs are breaded and fried, then paired with creamy ginger sauce, and thin-sliced yellowtail “Usu-Zukuri” utilizes jalapeño, garlic, cilantro and Dang’s “secret sauce.” Sushi rolls are another specialty, often flavorful and always colorful. The lobster roll pairs baked or tempura crustacean with crab meat, avocado and cucumber. Given Dang’s television background, it isn’t surprising that he knows presentation; consistently colorful plating makes tasty morsels look surreal. Given all the innovation, prices are surprisingly reasonable. It is possible to have a very fine lunch for less than fifteen dollars or dinner for less than twenty. Ordering sushi raises the price but for the artistry on display, this place is a bargain.
