Sunny's Table Restaurant Review:
To say Sunny's Table serves Asian fare is to use the designation loosely. It's what we might have called "fusion" back in the 80s, but it's now a refreshing update to that antiquated concept. A crisp pork belly salad is topped with a local, organic egg, the yolk becoming a rich sauce mingled with a sweet and sour vinaigrette, while spring rolls are stuffed with thin mashed potatoes to dip into a scallion soy sauce. Sounds odd, tastes great. Gnocchi is made out of soba and the pork and beans have a Korean flair with a chili-pepper barbecue sauce and fennel slaw, while salmon comes with a sweet Asian pear sauce and spiced cabbage. There are a few curry dishes that transport one to Thailand and even a touch of India. Chocolate beet cake for dessert is unique, if a bit dry.
