Sushi Akatora in Manhattan Beach is the first South Bay project from restaurateur Michael Cardenas, founder of Innovative Dining Group (Sushi Roku, BOA Steakhouse, etc.). In a rustic setting, patrons can enjoy bento boxes and sushi combos along with izakaya-inspired offerings like Kobe beef corn dogs. A multi-level dining room can accommodate guests at cozy tables or at the sushi bar. Daily specials are highly recommended. Think softshell crab tempura with radish truffle sauce, fried shishito peppers stuffed with spicy tuna or a Manhattan roll with fresh crab topped by salmon. Classic sushi is offered in addition to the California creative cuisine.
