One of several dining options at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Sushi Grand is an intimate restaurant with just 24 seats, including several spots at the sushi bar where guests can watch the chefs in action. Admire the hand-painted walls, which resemble bamboo trelliswork, as well as the light fixtures fashioned from Japanese straw hats. Among the starters are edamame, miso soup, seaweed salad and a ramen noodle bowl. Continue with nigiri, sashimi and sushi rolls, which are often accompanied by intricate garnishes. Sweet endings stray from the theme and include cheesecake, crème brûlée and the hotel's signature Grand Pecan Ball. Cocktails and hot and cold saké are also available.
