Sushi Village Restaurant Review:
Perched on the second floor of the Sundial Boutique Hotel, this Whistler restaurant has been the go-to spot for fresh sushi, sashimi and maki platters for more than three decades. You're guaranteed to rub elbows with local skiers and snowboarders along with visiting celebs all lining up for healthy portions of traditional Japanese cooking at wallet-friendly prices. Settle into a counter seat or a traditional tatami room, and then check out the diverse menu while sipping a strawberry saké margarita or noshing on what is possibly Whistler's best Caesar. With ocean fresh fish from the docks in nearby Vancouver, sashimi and a selection of house rolls like the mango caterpillar roll or the tuna KFC roll set the scene for things to come. Other options are crab claw tempura, spicy agedashi tofu, deep-fried soft shell crab with ponzu sauce, gyoza, teriyaki and udon noodle soups. Sushi Village has a well-priced all-Canadian wine list, Japanese beers and local craft beers. Fast, friendly and efficient servers seal the deal.
