SUSHISAMBA Restaurant Review:
Take the glass lift up to the 38th floor of the Heron Tower for a view over London and beyond. You can even enjoy the alfresco bar during chilly evenings courtesy of a fire pit and blankets. Linger over a cocktail before eating in the double-height glass and steel restaurant with its bamboo-lattice ceiling dotted with twinkling lights. If that’s not enough, there’s a fantasy metal tree to gaze upon. A mix of food from Japan, Brazil and Peru inhabits the lengthy menu that allows for small plate sharing as well as full meals. It’s all here, from tuna tataki and crispy taquitos among the former to an extensive sashimi selection, pork ribs and Samba rolls. Large plates run from sea bass tempura to hefty steaks. It’s attractively presented, too. The prices are as high as the setting, but the place is indeed special occasion worthy.
