THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tacos & Tequila Restaurant Review:
For decades, the building that now houses Tacos & Tequila was home to chef Miles Prescott and co-owner Nick Bazan’s Rio Mar, formerly one of the city's most popular seafood restaurants. The duo decided to close Rio Mar and open Tacos & Tequila. With the number of Mexican eateries that have debuted in New Orleans in the last couple of years, an owner must do something pretty special to attract the masses. Tacos & Tequila offers average Mexican fare in sparse surroundings. Diners order in a cafeteria-style line, where they can choose from all of the usual suspects such as burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas and tacos, and then select from about a dozen meats and sauces. On a good night, the bar attracts a number of Warehouse District residents. Wine is not a priority, but there are more than 70 tequilas and rums.
