Tacqueria Guaymas Restaurant Review:
The West Seattle branch of this locally-owned chain of Mexican restaurants is festive and family-friendly. Offering a menu of both classic and exotic dishes, the well-run establishment is known for its quality and reasonable prices. Our favorites include chicken in a spicy pipian sauce thickened with ground green pumpkin and sesame seeds. You can't go wrong with the soft tacos made with grilled corn tortillas and a choice of fillings---from chicken, chorizo, barbecued pork, beef cheeks, brains or tripe. The burritos are wrapped in flour tortillas and may be ordered "wet," meaning smothered in a vibrant sauce. Prawns in their shells are sautéed in butter and garlic, or cloaked in a lively chili sauce. On weekends, diners arrive for menudo, the tripe and hominy soup long touted as a hangover cure.
