THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Taste Restaurant Review:

The north side of Girard Avenue across from Northern Liberties used to be anything but a dining mecca. But with restaurants like Taste, and the nearby gastropub Johnny Brenda’s, that has changed. Taste brings a fine dining sensibility to this once desolate stretch of Girard, thanks to owner Billy Wong’s affable management and the polished cuisine delivered by chef-partner Jimmy Ng. Portions are generous; a good thing with dishes like seared shrimp and grilled scallops with creamy celeriac prosciutto fondue and licorice-lacquered lamb chops with parsnip purée and baby arugula.
