Big appetites are bound to meet their match at this, the Nashville area’s only Russian restaurant. Cobbling a mammoth meal together from various small plates is an affordable way to go here, but even the entrées are cheap. From the borscht to the blintzes, most everything on the menu is crafted with care and fresh ingredients. Besides the borscht, there are several first-rate soups to try; we recommend the smoky solianka with sausage and olives. The piroshki, a filled pastry, are also lovely, especially when stuffed with sautéed cabbage and onions. Chicken Kiev and beef stroganoff are also worthwhile. Make sure to select something stiff from the large selection of vodkas and Russian beers.
