Tea Roses Restaurant Review:
Peggi Camosci's Tea Roses in Cromwell is a Victorian-era dream with its chintzes, book nook, tea bar, fine linen and antique dining furniture. A tea enthusiast, Camosci offers dozens of teas, including her own Tea Roses blend, served in proper china teapots and cups, while offering a menu of homemade soups, scones, tea sandwiches and cheese plates that are tasty and satisfying. The Afternoon Tea option is a substantial assortment of tea sandwiches with double cream, curd and preserves and an assortment of mini-desserts served on a tiered china serving plate with a pot of tea. If you have a sweet tooth, get ready. Camosci loves to bake and desserts include a revolving menu featuring shortbread, lemon tarts and chocolate ganache pound cake. Tea Roses is refreshing and soothing, a welcome oasis on those bad days and a pleasant addition to the good ones.
