Ted Turner has teamed up with George McKerrow Jr. of LongHorn Steakhouse to produce a chain of family-comfortable restaurant devoted to the enjoyment of bison meat. Besides a raft of burgers and chicken sandwiches, the best of which is the one topped with Maytag blue cheese, dinner brings on bison pot roast (a special) or strip loin with horseradish and hollandaise sauce. Bison chili is first-rate, spiced with the taste of cumin. Check out the bison prime rib, offered daily. Available on Saturdays, the bison short ribs with mashed potatoes are absolutely the most tender morsel we've ever savored (the bison is organically raised). For dessert, get a malted. Coffee is quite good. The restaurants are entirely non-smoking. Other locations.
