With its tin ceiling, wood floors and red telephone kiosks out front, Telephone Bar & Grill is a little bit of London in the heart of the East Village. Where else can you find fish ‘n’ chips wrapped in The New York Times, Stilton cheese fritters and shepherd’s pie? There is a wide range of specialties in addition to the standard British bites, from blackened tuna with wasabi cream to pappardelle with jumbo shrimp. From the long wooden bar about a dozen beers are on tap---thankfully all served cold, American-style.
