Tenuta Café is located in a fifteenth-century Tuscan winery-themed casino adjoining the posh Ritz-Carlton. Arched picture windows afford a view of MonteLago Village. A handsome wine mural enhances the café's bar, and wrought iron racks display an impressive collection of wines. The patio is popular on balmy days and evenings. For breakfast, we like the eggs Benedict MonteLago with Canadian bacon and sliced tomatoes, and the french toast with cinnamon and vanilla essence, powdered sugar and two eggs with bacon or sausage. Among lunch and dinner starters, go for the crab and shrimp platter---snow crab meat tossed in lemon vinaigrette on a bed of bibb lettuce with slow-poached tiger prawns, Boursin cheese and lavash drizzled with a balsamic reduction and olive oil. Among savory sandwiches---all served with fries---is the grilled chicken pesto with shaved white onion, tomato, lettuce and creamy pesto sauce. Carnivores like the eight-ounce Black Angus filet mignon with roasted shallot demi-glaze and garlic mashed potatoes. Save room for the bananas Foster.
