The Terrace Room Restaurant Review:
Sincere, helpful staff escort diners to their tables in the historic, high-ceilinged, glass-enclosed Terrace Room, where everyone partakes of the panoramic lakeside view. This Art Deco hotel was built in 1927, and still maintains an ageless grace today. Chef Louis Le Gassic (formerly of BayWolf, now closed) skillfully prepares grilled calamari salad with trice-fired root vegetables, arugula and tapenade. A Bellwether Farms ricotta ravioli is one of many house-made pastas and includes broccoli and peppers. The grilled rockfish entrée involves pumpkin fennel gratin and watercress. Dishes lean a bit salty, but water glasses are perpetually refilled. Desserts and traditional cocktails from a time gone by will have fussed-over guests feeling they are living a life of leisure.
