This is a place renowned for large portions and proportions, with considerable experience in accommodating wishes for “more this and more that,” especially more takeout containers. This is an ideal place for a large group, as the range of items is staggering, from hearty and traditional Italian pasta dishes and personal pizzas to fresh fish, ribs, lamb, rotisserie chicken, paella and New York steak. Numerous sandwiches, burgers, chowders, salads and starters will keep the conversation going. Tempura-fried artichoke hearts and calamari are good choices, as are the steamers by the bucket. Bread options are plentiful: this is the home of sourdough loaves and rolls served with garlic, dill spread and Havarti cheese. Cocktails are enormous and the service as generous as the portions. There are gelatos, tiramisu and cheesecake, too. You leave here hungry and it’s your own fault.
