THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Thai Chili Sushi Bar Restaurant Review:
As the number of Thai restaurants in Atlanta explodes, Thai Chili remains one of the city's stalwarts. Walls are filled with decoratively framed elephants, and Thai story figures are set in lighted niches. Adding to the ambience, the staff wears traditional long skirts. Chef Robert Khankiew's cooking is steady and sure. The menu signals the varying levels of hotness by using peppers; beware, even a partial pepper may be too much heat for some palates. Open with a tasty dish of nam sod, a tangy mix of minced pork, chili, ginger, onions, lime juice and peanuts. While the kitchen shines with the chef's specials, don't overlook the delectable wild catfish nuggets sautéed with Thai eggplant. Quite spicy (it merits a whole pepper), it has been a signature dish from this kitchen for years. Many of the dishes are vegetarian. Also located at 2169 Briarcliff Rd., Atlanta, 404-315-6750.
