THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Thursday's Restaurant Review:

Young professional Montrealers and others flock to Thursday’s for the food or to chill out at the well-stocked bar. The place is a Montreal institution, and a 2014 renovation has done wonders; it still evokes an Old English pub feel crossbred with French sensibilities. Those looking for a bar atmosphere --- or somewhere to watch the hockey game --- will stay on the ground floor and down a cocktail during happy hour, order nachos or calamari, and then head to the club for some dancing. But adding an element of class is Thursday's bistro, serving frisée salad with potatoes, confit chicken gizzard, and a smoked lardons and shallot vinaigrette before mains of rack of lamb à la provençale with black olive panisse and hay-cooked organic chicken with wild mushrooms and vin jaune sauce. Daily specials include veal sweetbreads, bouillabaisse, and duck breast. Mondays feature $1 oysters after 6 p.m., and on Tuesdays, the leg of lamb is all-you-can-eat.
