THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tides Oyster Bar Restaurant Review

: A vibrant seafood emporium, Tides features a serene pale blue décor that includes a coral reef sculpture inside its entrance, wave-like decorations on its walls, big-screen TVs for sports fans and an extensive menu of coast-to-coast ocean and sea specialties. A whole chilled lobster appetizer is dressed with Louie sauce; a smoked crab and artichoke dip comes with crispy lavosh; and jumbo lump crab cakes are served with chipotle tartar sauce and Island pineapple relish. Imaginative salads include seafood Louie with avocado and seafood Cobb. New England and Manhattan clam chowders are staples. So are Creole and Cajun dishes such as shrimp, crab, lobster and chicken gumbos with okra and andouille sausage; and a chicken or seafood---lobster, shrimp and crab---etouffée in a rich nutty velouté with Cajun seasonings. We like the lobster, shrimp and crab pan roasts sautéed in individual steam kettles with butter, brandy, cream, tomato, herbs and spices. Sandwich favorites include the shrimp or oyster po’ boys with Cajun rémoulade. Save room for the appealing Key lime torte and caramelized banana cream pie.
