THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tiger Lily Restaurant Bar Restaurant Review:

The latest contribution from owner Sumant Pardal, who has opened numerous Indian restaurants in Los Angeles, fits in perfectly with the hip neighborhood Los Feliz is striving to become. The cavernous space that formerly made up the Hollywood Hills Coffee Shop has been redone with plenty of red curtains and booths and Indian hipster touches. Forget the saketinis; grilling one’s own seafood, beef and vegetables on a shichirin clay grill, using smokeless bincho charcoal, is a great icebreaker at the bar. If you doubt your cooking skills, the dipping sauces---chili aïoli, pickled ginger vinaigrette, and a garlic chili ponzu---will add flavor even to overcooked prawns. The New World-Asian cuisine covers the Pacific Rim, including edamame, dim sum, and plenty of fried dishes. Highlights include Mangalore calamari made with 19 spices and served with a tangy cilantro-tamarind chutney, mango-soy-glazed baby-back ribs that utilize vinegar to balance out their sweetness, and a moist citrus-marinated rack of lamb that you won’t have to grill yourself.
