THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Tiger Lily & Wing Restaurant Review:
Located on the ground floor of a beautiful, big house, the restaurants numerous plants make the dining room seem homey, as do the large windows looking out on Allen Street. Come summertime theres a lovely outdoor patio. With its genuine Chinese and Thai buns, soups, and entrées, Tiger Lily and Wing soars above most of its ilk. The buns are all stamped in red coloring with the chefs logo, and one has the impression of being privy to the secret joys of a cook with delicate and discriminating tastes. Savory wins out over spicy, here, with the pungent tastes of mushrooms and vegetables carrying the day. There is a variety of steamed or baked buns, filled with barbecued pork, vegetable or chicken curry, or, for a sweet treat, red bean or creamy pineapple paste, among others. Our favorite is the yam bun, the slightly sweet crunchy shell filled with chicken and mushrooms. Every day features a soup, such as sweet potato and tofu, and a more substantial entrée like sesame chicken noodles or orange beef on rice.
