Tramonti is the quintessential New York Italian restaurant that all other Italian restaurants fear---but not because it threatens in an overbearing manner. No, its ways are much more subtle. It begins with a subversive burrata, the melting center of which oozes out just so when you slice into it, convincing you that the bufala mozzarella at that place down the street really isn’t so good after all. Then it makes a move with its meatballs, a seduction of spiced ground meat blanketed with a bright marinara that could make you forget about what’s-his-name, the so-called meatball champ who used to have a line out the door. And its homemade pastas and fish dishes, and delicate eggplant concoctions---well, combine all of those with the impeccably polished service and chic Delray Beach scene, and it’s no wonder that Tramonti dominates.
