The cozy hideaway known as Trident Booksellers & Cafe sits prominently on Boston's tony Newbury Street, but a step inside reveals a comfortable bookstore and two restaurants. You can get breakfast burritos, steak and eggs or a truck stop special with pancakes any time of day. Each floor has its own restaurant with the larger one on the second floor. The first floor space's focal point is the counter where students and hipsters hang out sipping cappuccinos and lattes after snacking on a basket of fries, mac ‘n’ cheese and chicken quesadillas. Pair a mimosa with an eggplant and egg sandwich or try a juicy burger with an antioxidant smoothie to cure last night's hangover. Both restaurants have a cult following so plan on browsing the aisles while waiting for a table.
