The buffet breakfast on the seaside terrace at the Royal Kona Resort is a great, good-value family event. Think waffles and omelets. This place is also open for dinner and has the type of American, Continental fare that is guaranteed to please everyone without getting in the way with any unusual, experimental twists. You know, prime rib, seafood (crab legs, shrimp, oysters and fresh fish), pasta, chicken. Specials are served on luau plates and may include local grass-fed beef. Always book ahead and reserve an oceanside table, otherwise you may feel as if you're eating in a dark cave. Either way, the drinks from the bar are strong enough to match the experience.
