Frank Bell’s Louisiana style barbecue and Southern comfort food dates back to the days when his mother and grandmother taught him to cook for family gatherings. When he was forced to move from his old East Palo Alto digs, Silicon Valley executives who lunched there regularly banded together and helped him move to Mountain View. Uncle Frank’s signature beef brisket is one of the best in town---slow smoked for hours over walnut, oak, peach and almond wood, slabs of tender smoky beef couldn’t be more satisfying dipped in your choice of mild or numb-your-lips-hot sauce. Along with smoked meats, try the deep-fried shrimp and chicken wings. Tasty sides include black-eyed peas, candied yams, “mean” collard greens and super spicy Cajun corn.
