Classic Italian dishes and gourmet pizzas fill the menu at this Hampton Bays favorite. Décor is nothing fancy, and many opt for takeout, but whether you dine in the casual booth area, complete with a pizza counter, or in the slightly more formal dining room, the food is where Uncle Joe's shines. Start with the eggplant rollatini appetizer to share, with its rich tomato sauce. We also like the salads and soups, including minestrone and tortellini in brodo. Entrées include the Fisherman's Platters --- combinations of seafood in a spicy tomato sauce, served with a choice of sides, though spaghetti is the obvious choice. A few pastas dot the menu; go for the baked ravioli. But Uncle Joe's is known for its pizzas: classic, Sicilian and gourmet pies. While the classic pie is fine, for something more exciting try Uncle Joe's special, with fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers and basil. Desserts include cannoli, tiramisu and tartufo.
