Uno Chicago Bar & Grill is an odd name for a restaurant that specializes in pizza. Originally known as Pizzeria Uno, the restaurant is a Chicago institution. The chain was renamed as a Bar & Grill to emphasize its other entrées, including pastas, burgers, wraps and fajitas. Small plate appetizers---options include sautéed shrimp and white beans and whole-grain farro salad---are a nice, light start before the heavier pizzas. Pies are offered in deep dish or thin crust versions; both are good choices, and include a savory sauce made of chunky tomatoes. The roasted eggplant, spinach and feta cheese thin crust is a tasty departure from the classic.
