The views are spectacular from this comfortable modern-designed outdoor lounge on the top floor of Hyatt Herald Square New York. There are striking sightlines of the Empire State Building plus a sweeping panorama of downtown and the One World Trade Center. Space heaters are present for chilly evenings. Share modern small plates and tapas made with fresh seasonal ingredients. Bar snacks include warm sea-salt pretzel sticks with whole-grain mustard; and juicy grass-fed Black Angus sliders with arugula, caramelized onions and a choice of cheese. Also available are soups, salads and “to share” items like a shrimp ceviche, sweet from pineapple and hot from chili, served with chips. Choose as well from entrées and a couple of desserts. It’s a perfect place for cocktails, perhaps with signature-infused vodka, or a nightcap, and there’s a wide selection of premium beers, wines and other spirits. Cool off with a frozen daiquiri in summer, or warm up with a small-batch bourbon in winter.
