The quintessential British fish and chips restaurant, albeit with an Islington twist---how many other chip shops do people bring their own bottles of Champagne to? Like all the best seafood cookery, dishes are kept simple, though portions are unfeasibly large. The haddock and chips (£8.50) is large enough to worry Captain Ahab, so you probably will be hard-pressed to make it as far as the calorific puds such as treacle tart and custard (£3). If you fancy something a bit more---well, fancy---the lemon sole stuffed with scallops and crabmeat in cheese sauce (£9) is a winner. There’s also a takeout counter.
