Urban Turban, Las Vegas, NV

Urban Turban Restaurant Review

: Upon entering Urban Turban you’ll find Turbie, a motorized rickshaw taxi imported from India, which serves a dual purpose as both mascot and photo op. A bright ambience is accomplished via large windows, red-brick walls and colorful red and black chairs. For a sampling of the menu, try the Bombay tapas platter with garlic shrimp, chicken tikka, gun powder shrimp, lamb seekh kebabs, paneer tikka, tandoori prawns and chili basil tikka. The dishes enhanced with sauces are well worth diving into, such as chicken tikka masala tossed in tomato gravy with mild spices, paired with cumin-flavored rice and butter naan that’s delivered straight out of the tandoori oven. Pesto chili salmon is a grilled salmon filet infused with pesto and light chilies, set atop five-herb noodles. Among several vegetarian items is bhel, rice puffs mixed with finely chopped vegetables and a tangy tamarind sauce. Several craft beers are on offer, including two Indian beers: Kingfisher Premium Lager and Haywards 5000 Malt Liquor. Finish with house-made ice cream in flavors of betel nut, rose and mango. A lunch buffet, served daily from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., presents a wide assortment of food.
