THIS RESTAURANT IS NOW A PRIVATE EVENT SPACE Pensiero Ristorante Restaurant Review:
Having seen five-plus chefs within a matter of months, the kitchen at Pensiero Ristorante (formerly Va Pensiero) is a bit of a revolving door. Yet it forges on, remaining true to its Italian roots. That translates to hand-cut tagliatelle, scattered with wild mushrooms and pistachios. It’s tossed --- showily --- in a wheel of Grana Padano and finished with black truffles and earthy mushroom broth. Pappardelle topped with rich wild boar ragù and pleasantly chewy, lush risotto further the theme. Elegant mains, be it pan-seared chicken with eggplant-tomato purée and garlic agrodolce or hanger steak with pomme purée and grilled asparagus, too, have date-night potential. Looking to end on a sweet note? Carrot zeppole should do the trick. A large, thoughtful wine list and afternoon tea complete the experience.
