This small storefront has been transformed into a charming neighborhood Italian eatery with pastel walls, local artwork and doors that open onto the busy sidewalk of Cortland Avenue. The warm and friendly waitstaff does as much as the care taken in the kitchen to make a meal here feel like a comfortable, easygoing experience. The pizzas and pastas are well done, such as the pillowy potato gnocchi cloaked in a zesty Gorgonzola sauce or the vegetarian pizza topped with grilled vegetables, goat cheese and arugula. Braised rabbit comes with a light white wine sauce dotted with pine nuts and olives over rich polenta. Don't miss the spaghetti and meatballs which strays from the middle-of-the-road by sharing the plate with sweet peas, butternut squash and a tangy lemon sauce. End the evening with a house-made carrot pudding or flourless chocolate cake.
