Vendemmia Restaurant Review:

Sleepy Madrona gets a real date night restaurant with Vendemmia’s airy and angular dining room. Big windows line the west wall, while the east side of the space is devoted to the open kitchen and bar. In between, sharp wood tables grace the polished floor; be aware, noise-dampening panels on the ceiling and the comfortable padded chairs are the only softening features. Food brings local, seasonal ingredients to Italian cooking and presents them as bursts of bright color on white plates. Dungeness crab comes in big chunks as part of a salad with snap peas and chives, while bucatini winds its way through a maze of morel mushrooms, and grilled wild king salmon arrives pink, matched with yellow corn and green fava beans. The menu shies away from indulgent desserts, keeping things simple with ice cream, sorbet and panna cotta. The wine list, as expected, skews nearly entirely Italian, offering a chance for diners to consult their servers about the bottles from some of the more intriguing, less common regions of Italy.
