THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ford's Filling Station Restaurant Review:

With Ford’s Filling Station, chef Benjamin Ford broke new ground on two levels. First, he staked out his territory in once-barren Culver City back in 2006, paving the way for other prominent dining establishments to follow. Second, the young chef (son of Harrison Ford) pioneered the gastropub concept in L.A., which is now all the rage. At FFS, he keeps his eye on the seasonal-organic map with an American regional menu offered in a space designed to play both nostalgic and modern-day notes. Standouts include a handful of tasty ultra-thin-crusted flatbreads, trout with salsa verde, and a solid pub burger. Salads are fresh and properly dressed, and a meal composed of appetizers and cured meats and artisan cheese can make for an enjoyable visit to this unpretentious place, either in the woodsy interior or out on the patio. Always versatile, you can find smoked brisket taquitos with avocado sauce for under $10, or a whole pig dinner, serving a crowd, at market price (with an eight to ten day advance notice). A short but interesting wine list and craft beers wash it all down, and desserts include almond cake with grapefruit ice cream.
