Vien Restaurant Review:

When Vien opened its doors in summer 2013, it was billed as a “Southeast Asian version of Chipotle,” thanks to its use of quality ingredients and its proclivity for drawing from local farms to source its food. And, as a result, a perpetual line forms out the door of the small West Village restaurant. Save for some standing spots, there’s nowhere to eat inside the restaurant, so consider getting your order to go. The menu is all about mixing and matching: jasmine rice or rice noodles with various forms of meat, married with sauces and herbs. Rice noodles with slow-cooked pork, tomato-ginger jam, and peanut sauce is a particularly good combination. So is the jasmine rice, chicken, avocado and sweet chili sauce concoction.
