Virgil's Real Barbecue Restaurant Review:
About the restaurant: Located midway between The Las Vegas Strip and the High Roller observation wheel, Virgil’s Real Barbecue has a down-home atmosphere that is accomplished via reclaimed wood sourced from vintage barns across the Southern states and walls filled with old license plates and beer signs. Tall windows provide a view of The LINQ Promenade as well as an outdoor outlook on the upper level.
Food & Drinks: The menu offers a taste of the South and the best of BBQ, with specialties originating in Texas, Memphis, Kansas City, Georgia and Carolina, and meats smoked in-house. Begin with trainwreck fries covered with cheddar and Jack cheese, smoked bacon, scallions and pickled jalapeños with ranch dressing. For a BBQ sampling, move on to “The Pig Out,” with Memphis-style pork spare ribs, Texas beef brisket, Carolina pulled pork, barbecued quarter chicken, cornbread and two sides (with options such as cheese grits, hickory pit baked beans and Georgia pecan rice). Complementing the fare are fourteen beers on tap, including the exclusive Virgil’s Ale from Magic Hat. Dessert options hail from down south as well, with the likes of Key lime pie cheesecake and creamy and rich peanut butter pie. Live entertainment performing country, bluegrass and classic rock occurs nightly from 9 p.m. to midnight.
