The Way Back Restaurant Review

: Overseen by a group of food-and-drink industry heavyweights, this New American restaurant and cocktail emporium fulfills all of the requisites: artistic plates inspired by the seasons, genuine hospitality, sleekly designed surrounds and a notable bar program. The menu --- mostly comprised of small plates --- features green tomato soup drizzled with basil oil; beef heart paired with spƤtzle, fennel and mustard kimchi; and a healthy salad medley of mushrooms and grains. Larger dishes are lovely in their simplicity, whether it's the roasted half chicken matched with creamed greens and roasted carrots or trout with peak-season asparagus. The Way Back's wonderland of clever libations, including the Oaxacan the Garden concocted with mezcal, is worth the price of admission, as is the goat cheese tart with honey, almonds and figs. A formidable wine and craft beer list is worth perusing, too.
