THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Wok Box Restaurant Review:

Wok Box is a refreshing departure from the culinary desert of suburban Portland. Across the street from Intel offices, this first outpost of a Canadian chain offers software engineers and shoppers bright healthy Asian flavors, with a special emphasis on Southeast Asia and India. Add the authenticity of seasonings --- tamarind, kimchi, anise, daikon and fresh lime --- to elevate the Asian dishes past the standard soy sauce/ginger/cayenne combo. Generous noodle boxes offer white or brown rice, fresh vegetables and a choice of chicken, steak, shrimp or tofu with a variety of house-made sauces. Indian butter chicken and samosas equal those in most full service restaurants for sophistication and quality of flavor. We like the big plate of blistered green beans roasted with a homemade curry mix. Rice and curry boxes, along with Vietnamese pho soup and banh mi sandwiches, round out the menu. Vietnamese iced coffee provides a spicy-sweet twist on a latté. Local ingredients are used whenever possible. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diners will find lots of choices.
