Wolfgang's Steakhouse, New York, NY

Wolfgang's Steakhouse Restaurant Review

: In the heart of bustling Midtown, the beautiful interior, welcoming vibe, and platters of oysters, giant lobsters and huge rib-eye steaks at Wolfgang's Steakhouse keep diners coming back. Owner Wolfgang Zwiener honed his craft at the venerable Peter Luger, where he worked as a waiter and headwaiter for 41 years. Wolfgang's is a far more congenial place than Luger, and Zwiener himself is always around to see how things are going at every table. The wine list is solid if pricey, the table settings fine, and the prices about what you'll pay at many other steakhouses in town. Nothing is really new here, so you get the regulation steakhouse menu starting with jumbo shrimp cocktail, a nice meaty crab cake and mozzarella with beefsteak tomatoes. The lobsters weigh in at three pounds and the rib-eye is as well-fatted as you could wish. The cottage fries are crispy and mashed potatoes have heft. You should also try other side dishes like the extra thick sizzling Canadian bacon or the lobster cocktail. Go, you'll have a good time, but it's going to be loud and it's not going to be leisurely.
