Wynwood Kitchen & Bar Restaurant Review

: Located in Miami's gritty, cutting-edge art district, Wynwood Kitchen & Bar is actually not just a resto-lounge but also an urban art gallery. Chef Miguel Aguilar’s menu emphasizes small plates, mostly traditional Spanish/Mediterranean and Latin-inspired, executed with skill. The majority are, however, items familiar from every other tapas/small plates establishment in town. Chicken skewers come with predictable chipotle aïoli (rather than curry sauce); beef skewers are skirt steak with chimichurri. Roasted beet salad bears Maytag blue. Gazpacho, tomatillo salsa with homemade chips, peppery calamari with marinara, shrimp with garlic and parsley --- they're all here. On an “Iron Chef" scorecard, this place would score high in the taste category, but for originality, look to the boutique wine/craft beer list as well as the art.
